Nintendo has put Switch 2 expectations aside and unveiled a “smart” alarm clock model. The accessory, called the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, came as a surprise at a time when gamers were expecting the Switch 2 console from the company.
Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo announced
Sound Clock Alarmo aims to make waking up more enjoyable with sounds and animations from Nintendo games. Users can choose from different alarm options, such as the sound of gold from Super Mario Odyssey or music from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or music from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The most important feature that distinguishes the alarm clock from standard models seems to be its motion detection capability. Accordingly, the device will be able to detect your movements in bed and adjust the alarm sounds. It even plays celebratory music when you get out of bed, preventing you from pressing the snooze button.
Nintendo says the watch also makes it easier to fall asleep. Offering relaxing sounds throughout the night, the device also shows sleep statistics on its screen. The melodies that play every hour include animations of favorite Nintendo characters.
Priced at $100, Alarmo Alarm Clock is only available in the US and Canada for now. However, the company stated that the alarm clock will reach a wider audience early next year. Sound Clock Alarmo seems to make the mornings and the time before bedtime enjoyable.
